Garnette J. (Anderson) Moore, of Petoskey, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at the age of 64.

Garnette was born on Aug. 31, 1948, the daughter of Elbert and Shirley (Andersen) Anderson in Mackinaw City. She grew up in Petoskey and was a graduate of Petoskey High School, class of 1966.

On Nov. 26, 1966, she married the love of her life, George "Earl" Moore. Together they shared 46 wonderful years and raised four children who were the center of her universe. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren who in all things sought out her advice and guidance. Her love knew no boundaries.

In her spare time, Garnette enjoyed her pets, volunteering at Hospice and crafting, like blanket making and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed garage sales on the weekends, searching for that perfect treasure.

She is survived by her husband, Earl, and by her children, George Earl II (Cindy), Desmond (Jessica), Quinn Moore and fiance, Geno Thomas, and Skyler Moore and fiancee, Alicia Austin. Her grandchildren include Damian, Kelsey, Andrew, Ella and Natalie, as well as great-granddaughter, Isabella. Her surviving brothers and sisters include Randy and Elmer Bricker, Doug Scott, Donna Bertani and Debbie Bino. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brothers, John and Tom Bricker.

Her family will miss her hugs, her words of encouragement, her warm smile and the quiet early mornings spent over the kitchen table enjoying a simple cup of coffee. Her passage has left a void that will never again be filled and she will forever be remembered and loved.

A memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Petoskey. The Rev. Dennis Stilwell will lead the Mass. Visitation will be at the church within the gathering space from 9-11 a.m.

Friends wishing to honor her memory with a monetary contribution are asked to direct donations to Garnette's family, in care of Earl Moore, 5613 Old U.S. 31, Petoskey Mich. 49770.
