OBITUARY:

Sally J. Bricker, 74 and lifelong of Petoskey, died January 8, 2021 at the McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Sally was born on August 29, 1946 in Petoskey, the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Croff) Detcher and was a graduate of Petoskey High School.

On November 5, 1977, Sally married Albert “Sonny” Bricker. Sonny preceded her in death on March 16, 2008.

Sally went to work for Petoskey Public Schools for a time before going to work in the Housekeeping Dept at Northern Michigan Hospital, now McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, from where she retired. In her retirement years, Sally worked at the House of Hugs Daycare.

Sally was an extremely social woman. She was a member of the American Legion in Hulbert, the Red Hat Society, a duel member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Petoskey and Boyne City, and a member of the Epsilon United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.

She treasured the time she spent with Suzie Emmons and her niece Judy Eaton, going to family and friend functions. She loved going camping, and enjoyed going to the baseball games and other sporting events of her daycare kids, cheering them on, and supporting them as they grew up, even long after they graduated from her daycare.

Sally was greatly loved and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Sally is survived by numerous extended family members and was preceded in death by her parents and by a sister, Karen Detcher.
