Obituary:

Thomas Patrick West, 70

Thomas West of Fort Wayne, Ind., succumbed to cancer surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018.

Tom graduated from Petoskey (Michigan) High School in 1966. Tom loved Corvettes, boating and his cats.

He was an active member of the Fort Wayne Corvette Club, National Council of Corvette Clubs and the National Corvette Museum. Tom was a buyer for Pro Team Corvettes purchasing thousands of Corvettes. When not attending auctions, he drove for General Petroleum.

Tom is survived by his life partner, Joyce Lothamer; son, Tom West II; daughter-in-law, Barbi West; granddaughter, Kayla West, and grandson, Tommy West III. No funeral service will be held, but rather a Celebration of Life Open House is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Sowles Bay Yacht Club, Angola, Ind. with a tribute to Tom at 2 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Neptune Society, where condolences may be shared with the West family online at www.neptunesociety/obituaries.

Biography:

Marianne Boland and I were married for nearly fourteen years. We divorced in 1981 and I have remained single.

I became an agent for the ProTeam Corvette Sales (see business card below) in 1989 and have purchased over two thousand Corvettes for their inventory since. This work has taken me from coast to coast and border to border. It has given me the opportunity to enjoy every state in the continental U.S. and to meet the most fascinating people, including celebrities, country music stars and to appear on TV shows. There's no other work like it.

When I'm home, I enjoy my three cats. Of course, mine are the best. Well, really they're just mutts that I rescued, but I love them anyway.

I have boats to play with and have been a member of the Fort Wayne Corvette Club since 1973. I have been the Public Relations Director for the past six years.
